A Slovak man was sentenced to five years in Britain for the illegal production of ammunition

Slovak Štefan Fényes will spend five years in a British prison for illegal production of ammunition and possession of prohibited weapons. He defended himself in court by claiming that he was only preparing for an end-of-the-world scenario, large-scale civil unrest or an invasion of the United Kingdom by a foreign state.

A Slovak citizen who lives in the British town of Warwick near Birmingham was sentenced to five years in prison for the illegal production of ammunition. According to him, he was dealing with it in case the United Kingdom was invaded by a foreign country, or if there were large-scale civil unrest in the country. TASR informs about it according to the BBC station.

  • Slovakian Štefan Fényes from Warwick was sentenced to five years in prison for manufacturing ammunition.
  • He claimed he was preparing for an invasion of Britain or civil unrest.
  • In 227 online orders, he purchased equipment suitable for the production of ammunition.
  • During the house search, the police found weapons, ammunition, crossbows, knives and manuals.

The convicted Slovak is said to be interested in survival and preparation for the end of the world

Slovakian Štefan Fényes (47) caught the attention of Britain’s National Crime Agency (NCA) after he purchased items that could have been used to make ammunition in 227 separate online orders. These orders included tools for reloading spent rounds, special tools for cleaning main guns and ammunition storage boxes.

The condemned man told investigators that he was interested in survival and preparing for the end of the world. He was detained last March and in April he confessed to possessing a prohibited weapon and ammunition without the necessary documents.

Obsessed with weapons

NCA investigator Rick Mackenzie said in relation to the case that Fényes was “apparently obsessed with guns and intent on amassing an arsenal of weapons”.

The NCA searched his house and seized a Czech pistol with a loaded magazine and ammunition, the main weapon and other parts. British authorities also found military survival manuals and items related to hunting and archery such as crossbows and knives at his home.
