Nine Spaniards have died in the earthquakes last Thursday in Venezuela and 152 people are missing, according to the latest update from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which adds 21 more missing people to the balance made early this Sunday.
This was confirmed by the minister in an interview on RNE, collected by Europa Press. “Unfortunately the number of missing people has increased, at this time we count 152, there are still 9 deceased and I want to convey all my condolences to their families and friends. There are 14 Spaniards located under the rubble and we do not know under what circumstances,” commented Albares.
During this Sunday morning, the first plane from Venezuela landed at the Torrejón de Ardoz air base, carrying a total of 96 people, of which 76 are Spanish citizens.
In addition, another 20 people of different nationalities were traveling, including from France, Italy, Portugal, Belgium, Slovakia, Venezuela and Argentina.
