The Coral – Éden do Mar restaurant, located in , in Porches, is now part of the selection of recommended restaurants in the Michelin Guide Portugal 2026, marking its first presence in this international gastronomy reference.
The new edition of the guide was presented on March 10th, in Funchal, Madeira, having included 34 new restaurants in this category.

Installed on the top of a cliff and with a room with 22 seats, Coral has developed a gastronomic proposal centered on the product and seasonality, built on the relationship with producers in the region.
According to information released, fish from the Algarve coast, seafood from cold waters and vegetables from producers between Monchique and Aljezur are part of tasting menus that seek to interpret the Algarve in a contemporary approach.
According to those responsible for the project, the cuisine developed in the restaurant emphasizes working with the territory and respecting the rhythm of the seasons, seeking to enhance the balance and authenticity of the products.
Project consolidated over time
For Daniel Albarran, general director of Vilalara Grand Hotel Algarve, “Coral is a project that grew very organically, without rushing and without noise”.
The person responsible adds that “this recommendation validates a way of being in gastronomy: focused on the product, respect for the producer, the unique territory and the influence of the Atlantic, as well as the consistency of daily work, rather than the immediate search for distinctions.”

Heading the kitchen is Diogo Pereira, a graduate of the Porto Hotel and Tourism School, who began his professional career at InterContinental Porto – Palácio das Cardosas before joining Vilalara in 2017. A chef and also a fisherman, he maintains a close connection with the sea, an element that influences the restaurant’s gastronomic approach.
The Coral reopens on April 2nd, opening exclusively for dinner and also accepting customers who are not staying at the hotel. The space, with capacity for 22 seats, features tasting menus created according to the seasonal availability of the products.
Located in Porches, in the Algarve, the Vilalara Grand Hotel Algarve occupies around 11 hectares of gardens with direct access to Praia das Gaivotas and has 131 accommodation units, including suites and residences.
