Benfica provisionally equaled two-time defending champion Sporting in second place in the Portuguese First Football League with this Saturday’s victory.
The home team took the lead after just seven minutes, with Barbero, from the penalty spot, but the ‘reds’, without the suspended José Mourinho on the bench, managed the comeback, started at 51, by Richard Ríos.
In the classification, undefeated Benfica remained in third, with 62 points, the same as Sporting and four less than FC Porto, teams that have not yet played in round 26, while Arouca recorded their third defeat in a row and is 11th, with 26.
