A Chevrolet confirmed the return of Activ adventurous version for the Onyx in the Brazilian market. The configuration will have changes in relation to previous configurations and adopts a proposal closer to the universe of entry-level compact SUVs (B-SUV), in addition to raised suspension and specific adjustments to the dynamic set.
Chevrolet’s strategy will be to offer the Onix Activ, an adventurous hatchas an option for cars like the Volkswagen Tera and Fiat Pulse, marketed as B-SUV. Above that, there will be the which targets coupe SUVs like Nivus and Fiat Fastback.
With the arrival of these models, the Chevrolet will have ten models of different segments of crossovers and SUVs. They are: Onix Activ, Sonic, Tracker, Equinox and Trailblazer. In the electrified range, Spark EUV, , Equinox EV and Blazer EV.
One of the central changes of the new Onix Activ in relation to other versions is the height of the vehicle. The model measures 4,163 mm in length and now has a total height of 1,533 mm, 61 mm greater than that of traditional versions of the hatch.
The change results in a clearance in relation to the ground of 201 mmsuperior even to some SUVs. Furthermore, the attack and departure angles were increased to 19.7° and 28.1°, respectively. These numbers indicate a configuration designed to tackle urban obstacles more easily, such as ramps, speed bumps and uneven floors.
The project includes new spring, shock absorber and tire configurations. According to the company, this is the most significant change ever applied to the dynamics of a version of Onix since the introduction of the current generation of the model.
