The councilor and his wife, the teacher Clarice Sartoro Fridgewere found dead inside the residence where they lived this Sunday morning (15), in Boa Vista da Aparecidain the state of Paraná.
According to information from Civil Police of Paranáthe main line of investigation points out that the man had killed his wife and then taken his own life. The circumstances of the case, however, will still be investigated throughout the police investigation.
Clarice Sartoro Frigo was 47 years old and worked as a teacher in the municipal public school system. Gilmar Frigo, 45 years old, had been elected councilor for the Social Democratic Party for the term from 2025 to 2028. Before his political career, he worked as a bus driver.

“Teams from the Civil Police and the Scientific Police were on site to carry out the first expert surveys and other judicial police measures. A Police Inquiry will be launched with the purpose of completely investigating all the circumstances of the facts. […] Other information may be released in due course, after the investigations have progressed and the police inquiry has been completed,” the Civil Police said.
In an official note, the city hall of Boa Vista da Aparecida mourned the couple’s death and offered solidarity to their family, friends and co-workers. In light of what happened, the municipality declared an official mourning period of three days.
The municipal administration also informed that working hours in public offices will be suspended this Monday (16), maintaining only those services considered essential.
Authorities continue to gather information to fully clarify the case. Meanwhile, the city hall awaits the progress of investigations for new official demonstrations.
