Havana – The nationwide power grid collapsed in Cuba on Monday. Around ten million people were without electricity, as the state network operator UNE announced. The company is currently investigating the causes of the blackout. The incident is the latest in a series of widespread power outages, some of which have lasted for days. At the weekend, these led to rare violent protests in the communist-ruled country.
