Fávaro discusses soy exports with the sector

⁸The Minister of Agriculture and Livestock, Carlos Fávaro, received this Monday (16) businesspeople and representatives of entities in the sector to discuss the export of Brazilian soybeans to China.

The meeting took place amid Cargill’s decision to suspend the export of Brazilian soybeans to China due to changes in the Brazilian government’s phytosanitary inspection of cargo destined for the Asian country. The company’s president, Paulo Souza, and director, Lygia Duarte, attended the meeting.

According to the report, the topic should be addressed in Brazil’s next official mission to Chinawhich should take place by the end of March, to address phytosanitary issues between the two countries. The ministry’s expectation is that companies also negotiate in parallel with Chinese importers.
