Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu posted this Monday (16) a new “proof of life” on social media after rumors that he was dead. In the video he appears outdoors talking, interacting with a dog and asking people nearby to protect themselves. “Sometimes you can also go out for a bit, breathe in the fresh air. But you always, always need to have a shelter nearby,” said Netanyahu.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had already posted last Sunday (15) a video of himself buying a coffee and talking to his advisor. In the recording, the prime minister reacts to rumors that he was dead or injured, first circulated by Iranian state media.

In the minute-long video, recorded in a cafe on the outskirts of Jerusalem and posted to Netanyahu’s X account, his aide asks him about the rumors. “I’m crazy about coffee. You know what? I’m crazy about my people”, replies the Israeli prime minister.

Since the US and Israel began attacks on Iran on February 28, Netanyahu has visited at least two cities hit by Iranian missiles, a hospital, port and military bases, but there has been little or no media access to him, while videos have been released by his office.

Despite the “proof of life”, some internet users still speculate that the content of the publications is not real and that the videos are made by AI.
