In a letter sent to Mayor Hugo Motta (Republicans), the parliamentarian asked that his name be included in the selection process
Federal deputy Gilson Daniel (Podemos-ES) made his candidacy official for the position of minister of the Federal Court of Auditors (TCU) opened with the compulsory retirement of minister Aroldo Cedraz on February 26, 2026.
In a letter sent to Mayor Hugo Motta (Republicans), the parliamentarian asked that his name be included in the selection process conducted by the House.
In the document, Gilson Daniel presents a degree in Accounting Sciences, with a postgraduate degree in Management Accounting and Public Accounting and a master’s degree in Finance. Claims to have more than ten years of experience in activities related to the accounting, financial and administrative areas.
The deputy cites two terms as mayor of Viana, in Espírito Santo, and stints at the State Secretariat of Government and the State Secretariat of Economy and Planning, working in the formulation and execution of budgetary policies.
In the Chamber, he holds the position of ombudsman general. He is the author of two books on public management: “Results-oriented Public Management” (2021) and “Resource Raising, Management and Compliance” (2025). In the application, he argues that TCU must act with technical rigor and predictability.
With the entry of Gilson Daniel, the dispute for the vacancy brings together five candidates: Odair Cunha (PT), Hélio Lopes (PL), Danilo Forte (no party), Adriana Ventura (Novo) and the Podemos parliamentarian himself.
