The Minister of Health, (PT)published a video on social media in the early hours of this Wednesday (18 March 2026) in which he appears running through the streets of . During the recording, he stated that Hemobras e Oswaldo Cruz Foundation signed partnerships with Chinese companies to transfer technology and develop medicines for the (Unified Health System). The minister is in China on an official mission for the Brazilian government.
In the video, Padilha said that the two public institutions “come out even stronger” of the trip to fulfill the mission of guaranteeing medicines, therapies, vaccines and new technologies for the Unified Health System. According to him, joint development and production partnerships were established with Chinese companies.
“They signed very important partnerships for common development and common production with Chinese technological giants, which will transfer technology and develop research and medicines”he stated.
The minister also declared that the cooperation will allow Hemobrás and Fiocruz to expand their capacity to provide treatments to the SUS. “There are two public SUS giants forming partnerships with technological giants in China”these.
Padilha’s agenda in the country includes initiatives to expand cooperation in the health area. On Tuesday (17th March), the signing of a memorandum of understanding between Hemobrás and Beijing Tiantan Biological Productsa company that is part of the group Sinopharm.
The agreement establishes the basis for future partnerships aimed at technology transfer, productive innovation and expansion of Brazilian industrial capacity in the field of blood products, medicines used to treat patients with hemophilia, autoimmune diseases and serious cases treated in intensive care units.
