Neymar scores, but Internacional beats Santos and wins first in the Brasileirão

Internacional beat Santos 2-1 on Wednesday night (18), in Vila Belmiro, in the seventh round of the Brasileirão, with a goal in stoppage time that ended the team’s winless streak.

After a balanced and goalless first half, the game gained intensity in the final stage. In the first minute, Inter opened the scoring with a set piece: Bruno Henrique took a corner, and Zé Ivaldo deflected it into his own goal.

Santos reacted quickly. In the eighth minute, Moisés invaded the area from the right and was awarded a penalty. On the charge, and tied at 11. The number 10 still received a yellow card for the celebration.

The match remained open, with Internacional creating the best chances. Gabriel Brazão appeared well in Vitinho, keeping the tie for much of the second half.

With more possession of the ball, Santos tried to press, but found it difficult to transform volume into clear opportunities. Neymar remained the main offensive reference until he was replaced in the 44th minute.

In stoppage time, the game took on a dramatic turn. At 48, Johan Carbonero was stopped inside the area, but, in the next minute, Internacional found the winning goal. At 49, the Colorado attack took advantage of Santos’ defensive disorganization and found the back of the net to secure the away win.

The result takes Internacional out of the negative sequence, leaving the team with five points and positioned in 17th place. Meanwhile, Santos loses the chance to score points at home after reacting in the second half, stagnating at six points and in 16th place.
