Haddad also responded to criticism from Tarcísio’s allies, who have criticized the pre-candidacy of Planning Minister, Simone Tebet (MDB), for the Senate
Former Finance Minister Fernando Haddad (PT) took advantage of his first official event as PT’s pre-candidate for the government of São Paulo, this Friday (20), to criticize the current governor, Tarcísio de Freitas. For Haddad, Tarcísio “has no familiarity, to this day, with Sao Paulo”.
He responded to a speech Tarcísio confided to allies, in which the current head of the São Paulo Executive stated that Haddad had been “sacrificed by his own party” to run for a position in São Paulo.
“You won’t hear a sentence from me talking about sacrifice. That doesn’t exist. A person who ran the 2016 campaign, the 2018 and 2022 campaign. Are you going to question this person’s willingness to fight? Is it a good strategy?”, stated the pre-candidate, in a coffee with journalists. “As for Tarcísio saying that, I remember how long it took for him to abandon the idea of him being a senator for Goiás. Which is where he’s from, actually. Because Tarcísio doesn’t have any familiarity with São Paulo to this day. To this day, he doesn’t. It’s just a matter of recovering the news you gave about his coming here”, he declared.
Haddad also responded to criticism from Tarcísio’s allies, who has criticized the pre-candidacy of Planning Minister, Simone Tebet (MDB), for the Senate. She will need to change her electoral domicile, like Tarcísio, to be able to compete for the State.
“The other day I saw Tarcísio’s group saying: ‘How are you going to vote for an outsider senator here in SP?’, talking about Simone Tebet. Tebet has much more roots in São Paulo, infinitely more [que o Tarcísio]. Two daughters in SP, coming to São Paulo for years. So, everyone will choose their path”, he said. Tebet had a political career in Mato Grosso do Sul.
