Although he did not command troops on the battlefield, Naini held a crucial role: he was responsible for bringing Iran’s history to the world. Since July 2024, as IRGC spokesman, he has been the official voice of the corps, the most powerful military organization in the country, which reports directly to the Supreme Leader.
His role was not purely formal. Through Naini, the IRGC was building internal group morale, sending messages to adversaries and defining “red lines” in a war with multidimensional challenges.
Strategy, ideology and academic background
Naini was also linked to Imam Hossein University, the IRGC’s military and academic institution in Tehran, where officers are trained in defense, strategy and revolutionary ideology.
His academic background enhanced his ability to combine military service with communications work and ideological guidance — elements the IRGC considers inextricably linked to his effectiveness in the field.
