Pogacar wins Milan-Sanremo for the first time despite a fall

Despite a fall, cycling superstar Tadej Pogacar achieved one of his last remaining career goals and triumphed at Milan-Sanremo for the first time. The world champion and four-time Tour winner won the 117th edition of the longest classic after 298 kilometers in a sprint on the Via Roma, just ahead of the British Olympic mountain bike champion Thomas Pidcock (Pinarello-Q36.5 Pro Cycling). The Belgian Wout van Aert (Visma-Lease a Bike) came third, while last year’s winner Mathieu van der Poel (Alpecin-Premier Tech) came eighth.
