On Tuesday (17), the Republican even declared that he does not need NATO to reopen the Strait of Hormuz
Donald Trump, President of the United States, called this Friday (20) the allies of cowardsfor not making their bases available to help the Americans stop Iran’s nuclear power and open the Strait of Hormuz. “Without the United States, NATO is a paper tiger“, wrote the Republican on his Truth Social account. “Now that this fight has been WON militarily, with very little danger for them, they complain about the high oil prices that they are forced to pay”, he highlighted.
“Cowards, and we will remember,” concluded Trump. Since Iran closed the Strait of Hormuz due to the war against the United States and Israel, Trump has threatened to open the region, even saying that “if necessary” the United States Navy would escort the ships.
On Tuesday (17), the Republican even declared that . “The majority of our NATO ‘allies’ have informed us that they do not want to be involved in our military operation against the terrorist regime in Iran,” the president declared.
“Given the military success we have achieved, we no longer ‘need’ nor want help from NATO countries: WE NEVER NEEDED IT!“, Trump added.
After Trump’s speech, the United Kingdom authorized the United States to use British bases to attack Iranian facilities in the Strait of Hormuz, as part of its “defensive operations” against Iran, Downing Street reported this Friday (20).
According to a spokesperson, several ministers met this Friday and “confirmed that the agreement authorizing the United States to use British bases as part of collective self-defense in the region includes American defensive operations aimed at neutralizing the locations and capabilities of missiles used to attack ships in the Strait of Hormuz.”
Since the start of the war on February 28, London has authorized the United States to use two British bases to carry out “defensive operations” against Iran and sent air assets to support its allies in the region in the face of Iranian drone attacks.
