The information that the banker is negotiating an agreement with the AEA (Attorney General’s Office) has increased the climate of tension in Brasília with possible new revelations about the scandal.
The assessment in the political, legal and business classes is that the revelations could cause damage in all aspects. The possible denunciation has the potential to affect members of the government (PT), Congress, the leadership of the centrão parties, the opposition and the (Supreme Federal Court), in addition to other instances of the Judiciary.
Among politicians, the main concern is that investigations invade the campaign period and that the repercussions of the accusation affect the electoral chess, with complaints and police operations throughout the election. The minister, rapporteur of the process at the STF, has already told assistants that during the election.
In Congress and the Judiciary, there is criticism about what they see as selective leaks of information by the police, as a way of gaining popular support to investigate authorities. There is a perception that revelations about Vorcaro’s luxurious parties, with millionaire expenses, popularized and attracted attention to the scandal, which, until then, was restricted to those who follow the financial market.
Congressmen heard by Sheet predict that the presidents of the two largest parties in the center should be hit: , do , and , do . In conversations with allies, they confirm personal relationships with Vorcaro —already made clear by the banker’s breach of telephone confidentiality—, but deny financial transactions.
According to reports, Nogueira and Rueda defended in private conversations that participating in parties is not a crime and that all politicians wanted to get closer to Vorcaro at the time. The former banker participated and sponsored events with authorities.
There is a fear, however, of leaked photos and personal conversations that could be exploited by opponents to embarrass them in the campaign.
HAS Sheet Rueda said he does not comment on gossip or alleged allegations. “I never did any intermediation, I did not receive an advantage and I have no business relationship with anyone in this case. Any attempt to get involved is speculative,” he stated.
Nogueira did not respond to the report.
Allies of President Lula also seek to shield him and invest in the discourse that it was his government that disrupted schemes inherited from the administration. One of them minimizes the risk of Vorcaro protecting friends in the event of an accusation and remembers that the banker will have to substantiate his accusations. Despite these arguments, a wing of the government admits that Vorcaro’s accusations could cause electoral damage.
Among right-wing politicians and Bolsonarists, the negotiation for the plea bargain was celebrated and the hope is that names from the center and the left will be reached, but mainly ministers from the STF. The speech of members of the PL, for example, is the same as that which supported the Master’s CPI requests filed by this camp — that everything must be investigated.

Part of Bolsonarism suspects, however, that Vorcaro may try to spare relations with Supreme Court ministers and hand over only politicians. There is also fear that a complaint involving the STF or the PGR itself will not be approved, in an attempt to shield the authorities.
PL parliamentarians who have an old fight with the Supreme Court, especially with the minister, see the plea bargain as an opportunity to expose what they consider to be corruption in the court and, thus, strengthen the pro-impeachment discourse of ministers.
Names on the right also minimize revelations that may arise regarding the Lagoinha Baptist Church and federal deputy Nikolas Ferreira (PL-MG), who used a plane linked to the owner of Master in agendas in the second round of 2022. On his networks, Nikolas celebrated news of the accusation saying that Vorcaro would not spare anyone.
