A night of tension in Albufeira ended with the arrest of a man who, after being thrown out of a bar, decided to take dangerous revenge.
According to authorities, the suspect, in a state of intoxication, got into the car and invaded the establishment’s terrace, causing material damage, but without causing any injuries.
After the incident, he fled and disobeyed the order to stop given by the first National Republican Guard patrol that arrived at the scene. Still, it ended up being quickly intercepted by another team on the ground.
The rapid intervention of the authorities was decisive in avoiding more serious consequences, namely the risk of people being run over by people in the vicinity.
The man was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol, and is now subject to due legal diligence.
