The return to celebrate one of its most emblematic traditions with the 22nd Prova do Folar, scheduled for April 5th, Easter Sunday.
The event takes place from 4pm, at Poliesportivo da Guia, promising an afternoon dedicated to gastronomy, music and socializing between the local community and visitors.
Giant Folar is the highlight of the initiative
The most anticipated moment of the event will be, once again, the sharing of the traditional giant folar, which will be distributed free of charge among participants.
The initiative aims to enhance the typical flavors of the season, whilst simultaneously promoting the spirit of unity and hospitality characteristic of the parish.
Traditional crafts and flavors highlighted
In addition to the gastronomic aspect, the venue will feature a display of local crafts, including traditional sweets and snacks.
The event is thus seen as a space to promote local culture and traditions.
The president of the Guia Parish Council, Dinis Nascimento, highlights the importance of continuing the initiative, stating that “the Prova do Folar is already a reference in our parish, where we celebrate the traditions of the time in a lively environment, where everyone is welcome”.
Live music livens up the afternoon
The musical entertainment will be provided by the groups Dabalada and Duo 64, who promise to maintain the festive atmosphere throughout the afternoon.
Organized by the Paróquia da Guia, with the support of Albufeira City Hall, the 22nd Prova do Folar has free entry.
