Therefore, simply washing them under running water may not be enough. So how to wash fruit properly? This topic was raised by naturopath Joanna Niwińska in one of her posts on Instagram. She indicated one of the most effective ways to wash fruit from pesticides. The idea is to add baking soda to the water.

Then prepare a bath for them. This is important if you want to get rid of any pesticides or microorganisms. Immerse the fruit in a solution of water and baking soda for 15 minutes. Pour water into a large bowl or sink and add baking soda. The proportions are usually 1 tablespoon of baking soda per approximately 1 liter of water. You can adjust the amount according to the volume of water and the amount of fruit. After such treatment, the fruit should be rinsed again with clean water. Finally, dry the fruit and enjoy. Washing fruit with baking soda is a popular method that aims to remove pesticides, wax and dirt from their surface. Baking soda (sodium bicarbonate) is a mild abrasive and alkaline agent, which makes it effective in dissolving some substances.
