Israeli attacks hit several areas of Tehran and caused unprecedented explosions. The extent of the damage and the number of victims are not yet known.
The Israeli Armed Forces announced on the Telegram platform on Monday that they had launched a large-scale wave of attacks targeting the infrastructure of the “Iranian terrorist regime in Tehran”. The Iranian media subsequently reported on massive explosions that shook Tehran. TASR informs about it with reference to the AFP agency.
The Fars news agency said the airstrikes targeted at least five areas of the Iranian capital and that “terrifying sounds of explosions were reported”.

“More details on the extent of damage and possible casualties will be announced later,” the agency added.
An Al Jazeera Arabic correspondent based in Tehran said the scale and number of explosions in the Iranian capital was “unprecedented”. According to him, air defense systems were activated mainly in the eastern part of the city, which usually means that they respond to American and Israeli drones.
The Fars news agency also reported that several people, including a child, were killed and injured in an airstrike on a residential area in the western Iranian city of Khorramabad.
