Left-wing candidates win mayoral elections in Paris and Marseille


Paris – Paris and Marseille remain left-wing: Left-wing candidates prevailed in the second round of local elections on Sunday in France’s two largest cities. In Paris, the socialist Emmanuel Grégoire was ahead of the conservative former culture minister Rachida Dati. In Marseille, the socialist incumbent Benoît Payan defeated the right-wing populist candidate Franck Allisio. The right-wing populist party Rassemblement National (RN) conquered around 30 cities
