Bobadelense coach attacked referee with headbutt in AF Lisboa under-11 game

A Lisbon Football Association under-11 game was marked by a serious episode of violence, after a technical assistant attacked the referee during the match.

The incident occurred in the match between Ponte de Frielas and Bobadelense, when the visiting team’s coach, identified as Vasco Lourenço, hit the referee with a headbutt.

Images of the moment have been circulating on social media and generating strong indignation, mainly because it is a grassroots game. After what happened, the coach was immediately fired by the club, as soon as the directors became aware of the situation.

The case has already prompted a complaint to the authorities and is now being analyzed, in an episode that raises concerns about behavior in youth football.
