In partnership with the Federal Government and the Floresta+ Amazônia Project, this Tuesday, the 24th, an Environmental Regularization Task Force was held, aimed at serving rural producers within the scope of the Rural Environmental Registry (CAR), the Environmental Regularization Program (PRA) and for registrations in the Floresta+ Amazônia Project. The action, which also included registrations in the Floresta+ Amazônia Project, took place at the multi-sports court of the Administrative Center of Cruzeiro do Sul City Hall, located in the Miritizal neighborhood.

The Floresta+Amazônia Project is an initiative of the Brazilian Government, through the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change (MMA), in partnership with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP). With the support of the Municipality of Cruzeiro do Sul, the project operates through the Conservation modality, which is currently open for registration and aims to support rural producers in small areas, offering financial incentives for the conservation of native vegetation, through the economic instrument of Payment for Environmental Services (PSA) which varies from R$1,500.00 to R$28,000.00.

The owner of a rural area in Ramal do Cajueiro, a branch of Ramal do Escondido, Maria Gracinete, highlighted the importance of registration and the benefit of protecting the forest.
“I came in search of information and to see how the Forest Conservation Program works. These benefits come at a good time for the producer so that we can have extra income for our family. I want to thank Mayor Zequinha Lima for the support given to the small farmer who brings the product to the tables of families in the city”, said Gracinete.

Lilian Nunes, Coordinator of the Floresta+ Amazônia Project, explained how the program works and thanked the city of Cruzeiro do Sul for supporting the effort. “The City of Cruzeiro do Sul has supported us with all the logistics, all the support necessary to bring the population and carry out this service, which is both environmental regularization, registration in the CAR, environmental analysis, adherence to the Environmental Regularization Program”, said Lilian.
