Copenhagen – In the parliamentary elections in Denmark, Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen’s left-wing alliance is leading ahead of the right-wing camp, according to two post-election surveys. However, neither camp is likely to achieve an absolute majority in the vote on Tuesday. According to a survey by broadcaster DR and Epinion, the left-wing bloc has 83 of the 179 seats in parliament, while the right-wing bloc has 79 seats. A survey by TV2 and Megafon sees the left with 86 and the right with 75 seats. This could allow Foreign Minister Lars Lökke Rasmussen’s Center Party to tip the scales in forming a government. Alternatively, the four MPs from Greenland and the Faroe Islands could be the deciding factor. (APA, Reuters, March 24, 2026)
