Former minister Roberto Rodrigues and honorary president of Agrishow has been ventilated
The Workers’ Party (PT) has already started the search for good names for the position of vice-president of the pre-candidate for the government of São Paulo, Fernando Haddad. The expectation is to try to find people linked to agribusiness, with good access to the interior of São Paulo, and aligned with the center.
The column found that, so far, no name has actually been given to the former minister – but PT authorities involved in the pre-campaign have already collected and shared suggestions among themselves.
Among those already sent to the pre-campaign coordinator, federal deputy and president of PT Paulista, Kiko Celeguim, are former minister Roberto Rodrigues, who commanded Agriculture in Lula’s first term and maintains a strong presence in the sector, and businessman Maurílio Biagi Filho, linked to the sugar-energy sector and honorary president of Agrishow.
The expectation is that the “you mission” will be headed by the vice-president, Geraldo Alckmin (PSB), and the pre-candidate for the Senate and Minister of Planning, Simone Tebet (MDB-PSB). The two have good contact with the agribusiness sector and also with the business community, and should help with research.
In general, the PT has advocated that Haddad head a ticket similar to Lula’s in 2022, when he chose Alckmin as vice-president. The names will then be presented to Haddad.
