A strike at DHL threatens Cruzcampo’s supply in Seville during Holy Week | Companies

Two days of strikes called for this Thursday and Friday in the logistics services that DHL provides in the factory in Mairena del Alcor (Seville), and in its annex logistics center in Dos Hermanas, threaten to put difficulties in the supply of beer in the area just a few days before the start of Holy Week, including the local Cruzcampo, brewed in said plant.

The Provincial Union of Citizen Services of CC OO of Seville has called a strike among the DHL Supply Chain staff who work in these centers, demanding an improvement in salary conditions. In a statement, the union explains that in the last 18 years, the company “has limited itself to applying the minimum wage increases of the provincial agreement, without making its own improvements that recognize the specialization and effort of the staff.” In it, they ask DHL to sit down and negotiate “to avoid the paralysis of logistics activity in these strategic centers.”

The operator is in charge of controlling the distribution of the beer that is manufactured at the Seville facilities and that then reaches the points of sale, in addition to other aspects of the plant’s logistics management. From this it is distributed throughout Spain, although the highest levels of activity are in Andalusia and, specifically, in the province of Seville.

In a statement shared with the media, DHL Supply Chain explains that they continue to “work in coordination with all parties involved to manage the situation with the utmost responsibility and professionalism.” The company, which says it respects “deeply” the right to strike, adds that its fundamental commitment at this time is “the safety of people, as well as guaranteeing the continuity of the service, always within respect for the legal framework and the rights of workers.”

In addition to salary improvements, union representatives demand an agreement in four areas: professional recognition through the regularization of the forklift driver’s bonus according to the category performed; equality in incentives with the implementation of a single system for the entire workforce, equating it to that of foremen and management; shift compensation creating a specific bonus for the fourth shift and other rotating shifts; and in matters of family conciliation, a request to guarantee at least three weeks of vacation in summer.
