Finnish President Stubb admitted concerns: Negotiations on Ukraine have reached a dead end… Is the USA to blame?

Finnish President Alexander Stubb fears that the US-led Ukraine peace talks may be nearing their end. He said this in an interview with a Norwegian daily published on Thursday. TASR informs about it according to the report of the AFP agency.

  • Finnish President Alexander Stubb predicts the imminent end of American peace negotiations.
  • Stubb links the slowdown in negotiations to the war in Iran and a loss of focus.
  • According to Stubb, the negotiations are running into limits, especially on the issue of the Donetsk region.
  • Stubb says Russia does not want peace and is blocking real progress in negotiations.
  • Zelensky confirms that there has been no progress and that Russia shows no interest in peace.

“This may be due to the war in Iran, which diverts a lot of attention from the war in Ukraine. But it may also be that the negotiations have reached their limits and are not making any progress.” Stubb told Norwegian daily VG.

“I believe that the American negotiators have done everything in their power and that most of the issues now depend on one thing – the Donetsk region and other territories. But the big problem is that I don’t think that Russia wants peace,” he said. Stubb’s comments come amid reports that US-brokered talks between Moscow and Kyiv have stalled.

Ukraine sent a delegation to the United States last weekend in an attempt to revive the negotiating process, but the effort did not yield any immediate results. “Unfortunately, there hasn’t been any real progress yet,” Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said on Tuesday after a meeting with his negotiating team. “Russia is not interested in moving towards peace,” he added.
