“The Israel Defense Forces eliminated the commander of the IRGC Navy, the person directly responsible for the terrorist mining operation and blockade of the Strait of Hormuz to maritime traffic”said Katz during a meeting with military personnel.
Katz said the attack is a “message” to the IRGC. “The Israel Defense Forces will hunt them down and eliminate them one by one”these. “We will continue to operate in Iran with all our strength to achieve war objectives.”he added.
Tangsiri was the target of shelling in Bandar Abbas on Wednesday (25 March) while meeting with high-ranking officials from the Iranian naval command, according to Israeli officials.
Bandar Abbas is on the southern coast of Iran in the Persian Gulf and is the location of the main Iranian Navy base.
So far, Iran has not confirmed Tangsiri’s death.
The Strait of Hormuz is an important maritime route through which around 20% of the world’s oil passes. The channel has been on since February 28th due to the war in the Middle East.
