The United States and Iran are holding indirect talks to end the war, Pakistan’s Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, whose country is acting as a mediator for the talks, said on Thursday. According to him, Tehran is currently studying the 15-point plan presented by Washington. Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump called on Iran to start taking the US proposal seriously. TASR informs about it according to the report of the AFP agency.

- Trump called on Iran to take the American proposal seriously.
Trump has repeatedly claimed in recent days that Iran is negotiating with the United States. However, Tehran denies this. The head of the White House expressed his belief on Wednesday that the Iranian regime did not confirm its participation in the talks because it fears that its negotiators would be killed by its own people.
“There has been unnecessary speculation in the media regarding peace talks aimed at ending the ongoing conflict in the Middle East. In fact, indirect talks are taking place between the US and Iran through messages mediated by Pakistan,” Pakistan’s top diplomat said on the X Network. He thus officially confirmed for the first time that Islamabad is playing the role of mediator of the talks.
He called them weird
Two Pakistani officials told AFP on Wednesday that Iran had received a 15-point plan from the United States to end the war in the Middle East. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi said that Tehran is studying the American proposal, but currently has no intention of holding talks. According to the Pakistani minister, Turkey and Egypt support the US initiative. On Thursday, Trump called Iran’s negotiators “freaks” on his Truth Social network.
“They’re ‘begging’ us to make a deal on what they should do since they’ve been militarily destroyed and have no chance of going back, yet they publicly state that they’re only ‘considering our proposal’. WRONG!!! They should start getting serious before it’s too late, because when that happens, there will be NO TURNING BACK and it won’t be pretty!” emphasized the head of the White House.
On February 28, the US and Israel attacked Iran, which retaliated by striking Israel and the Gulf countries where US bases are located. In addition, Tehran effectively closed the Strait of Hormuz, which is crucial for the transportation of oil and gas.
