The police are dealing with a night fire in Zvončín near Trnava. The case is being investigated in connection with the crime of damaging another’s property. After finding out all the information, it does not rule out a possible change of legal qualification. The Trnava regional police informed about it.
The operations center received information about a fire in the premises of the local agricultural cooperative on Wednesday (March 25) shortly after 9 p.m. Several police patrols immediately arrived at the scene. Firefighters explained that it was a fire of waste foil belonging to a plastic processing company. The fire was extinguished during the night.
“After arriving at the scene, the policemen began to assist the responding firemen, while they had to deal mainly with non-participating persons who began to gather around the cooperative,” the police said, adding that after the fire was extinguished, the investigator of the cause of the fire did not rule out someone else’s fault.
“A dog handler with a specially trained service dog and a forensic technician were also sent to the scene. The case was taken over by the police officers who are dealing with the crime of damaging another’s property,” added the police.
Firefighters added that the preliminary amount of direct material damage was estimated at approximately 50,000 euros. Professional firefighters from the district directorates in Trnava, Galant and Dunajská Streda, as well as members of the Rescue Brigade of the Fire and Rescue Service in Malacky and the Fire and Rescue Service of the Slovak capital, Bratislava, intervened at the scene of the incident. Likewise, several volunteer fire brigades.
