Just over a year after announcing its first factory outside Brazil, Tramontina, which now has operations in India, opens a plant in Lerma, Mexico.
In operation since the end of 2025, the manufacturing unit will be a 100% operating subsidiary of Tramontina SA Cutelaria. With a production capacity of up to 100,000 pieces per month, the new factory will focus exclusively on the production of aluminum frying pans with non-stick coating, initially and integrates with Tramontina’s existing structure in Mexico, since 1997, which has a consolidated commercial and distribution operation, with more than 200 employees.

“Mexico is already the second largest export market for Tramontina in the kitchen utensils segment, both in volume and revenue. The acceptance of our brand by local consumers, recognized for its quality and service, gave us the confidence to take this new step”, says Jandir Brock, Corporate Director of Tramontina.
The choice of location is part of the brand’s global strategy to reinforce its presence in key markets and optimize service logistics, which allows for quick and efficient supply to the Central American and United States markets.
The operation will feature the same level of automation and innovation present in the group’s other plants in Brazil. “In addition to contributing to local industrial development, the new unit reaffirms Tramontina’s commitment to sustainable practices and the use of cutting-edge technologies”, comments Marcos Grespan, Tramontina’s Commercial Director.
Internationalization

Tramontina’s first factory outside Brazil was announced in February 2025, when the brand joined forces with the Indian company Aequs to present its first Joint Venture (JV). The unit is located in Hubballi, in the Karnataka state of India, and produces cookware and other kitchen utensils for customers locally and abroad.
The company also recently announced its own structure in Buenos Aires, with the opening of a regional sales office (ERV) and a showroom – which function as a point of contact between the Argentine market and the group’s manufacturing units. The country that has been importing the brand’s products since 1970 is one of the most important markets for Tramontina outside Brazil.
In new operations, the initial focus will be on lines with greater recognition, such as kitchen utensils and household items. However, with a portfolio of over 22 thousand items, including tools for agriculture, gardening, porcelain, wooden and plastic furniture, electrical materials and utility vehicles, the company intends to explore the potential of other categories.
