‘End of the dream of stolen retirees’, says Viana about the end of CPMI

O sSenator Carlos Viana (Podemos-MG) said this Thursday (26) that the end of INSS CPMI he was “the end of the dream of Brazilian retirees who were robbed” to see an investigation that reached all areas of power.

The Federal Supreme Court (STF) voted this Wednesday (26) Ministers André Mendonça and Luiz Fux voted in favor of the injunction that determines the postponement of the commission. The magistrates Flávio Dino, Alexandre de Moraes, Cristiano Zanin, Kassio Nunes Marques, Dias Toffoli and Carmem Lúcia, voted together in dissent to Mendonça and Fux and formed the majority.

O senator declared in a conversation with journalists that the CPMI fought until the last momentand which showed “Brazil all the gangs, who stole, how they stole, the way they used the money”. He also said that he hopes that the people mentioned will be charged, especially the 14 who are in prison.

Viana also confirmed that the report will be read tomorrow and that he hopes the text will be voted on the same day. The senator stated that the document could be voted on on Saturday and rejected the idea of ​​a parallel report.

“There is no more time for this. Either we vote on the report being presented by Alfredo Gaspar, or we don’t vote”, he said.

Viana also stated that he agrees with Minister Gilmar Mendes, from the STF, in relation to voting on a new law for the CPMIs, so that people are not dependent on habeas corpus from the STF for investigations.

“It is time for parliament to use the example of this CPMI as a moment in which we rebalance powers”, he concluded.

The senator concluded his statements by saying that he hopes that another CPMI will be opened to investigate the Master case. “I sincerely hope that Mr. Valcaro makes a complete statement, that he brings us all the characters involved in this billion-dollar scam, from public servants to politicians, so that Brazil can have answers”, he concluded.
