When questioned, Trump highlighted that the difference between this war and other conflicts fought by American presidents is that his government has guaranteed self-sufficiency in energy, with strong domestic production and now with the “partnership” of imports from Venezuela.

According to him, in this scenario, the USA does not necessarily need the Strait of Hormuz released for internal energy consumption. “We are there for our allies. The US today produces more oil than Russia and Saudi Arabia combined,” he said.
The American president said that the absence of protests against the regime in Iran is due to the strong repression promoted by the government.
