Trump says US meeting with Iran to negotiate deal will be Friday night

The president of the United States, Donald Trump, said this Thursday, 26, that a meeting between his government and Iran to negotiate a ceasefire agreement will take place Friday night, in an interview with Fox Newswithout giving further details. He also reiterated that the extension of the deadline for the start of negotiations was made at the request of the Persian country.

“Iran came to me asking for seven days, and I gave them 10 days because they gave us oil ships,” Trump said, in reference to the “gifts” he had cited on Wednesday. “Militarily, we won the war against Iran,” he added.

When questioned, Trump highlighted that the difference between this war and other conflicts fought by American presidents is that his government has guaranteed self-sufficiency in energy, with strong domestic production and now with the “partnership” of imports from Venezuela.

According to him, in this scenario, the USA does not necessarily need the Strait of Hormuz released for internal energy consumption. “We are there for our allies. The US today produces more oil than Russia and Saudi Arabia combined,” he said.

The American president said that the absence of protests against the regime in Iran is due to the strong repression promoted by the government. According to Trump, the population would be intimidated to take to the streets after the wave of murders, which he attributed to the violent regime, in the context of demonstrations against the increase in the cost of living and for more civil liberties.

When asked, the Republican commented on rumors that Iran’s new supreme leader, Ayatollah Motjaba Khamenei, would be gay. “The CIA told me that, and that would put you off to a bad start in this country. There they kill gays and they kill women if they don’t wear certain clothes,” he said.

Regarding the lack of support from the MAGA group, Trump said he has 100% support from Republicans in the USA. “I believe that MAGA is included within this classification,” he said. “The MAGA people loved what we did in Venezuela when we came back with 100 million barrels of oil.”
