Bruce Springsteen Sings Against “The King”. Donald Trump is facing massive protests from Americans

Mass protests against US President Donald Trump are taking place in many cities in the United States and abroad on Saturday. Thousands of people use them to express their anger at Trump for his tendency to be authoritarian and for breaking the law.

As AP reminded, this is already the third wave of protests in less than a year within the “No Kings” civil movement, which has become the most prominent expression of opposition to Trump since the beginning of his second term in office in January 2025. The new impetus for the protesters is the war against Iran, which Trump launched together with Israel on February 28.

Protests also abroad

This time, the protests also spread outside the USA: demonstrations were held, for example, in Amsterdam, Madrid and Rome.

In the USA itself, thousands of people gathered on Saturday, for example, in Atlanta, Georgia. In West Bloomfield, Michigan, people protested despite sub-freezing temperatures. In Washington, D.C., marchers carrying banners reading “Trump Must Go Immediately” and “Fight Fascism” crossed the Potomac River Bridge to the Lincoln Memorial – a historically important site of civil rights demonstrations.

Record attendance

The organizers expect record attendance at their events. The first nationwide “No Kings” protests, attended by several million people, took place last June around the time of Trump’s 79th birthday. A second series of rallies in October 2025 attracted around seven million participants, according to organizers.

The goal is to get even more people to the streets this time. The third wave of protests comes at a time when Trump’s approval rating has fallen below 40 percent and November is approaching, bringing with it congressional elections in which Republicans could lose control of both houses of the federal parliament, the AP added.

Broad criticism of politics

Critics of the president point in particular to Trump’s ruling through executive orders, abuse of the Justice Department against his opponents, support for fossil fuels and denial of climate change. They also don’t like the cuts to programs to support racial and gender diversity. They also criticize Trump’s willingness to use military force – despite his pre-election promises about peace policy.

“Since our last march, this administration has dragged us deeper into war,” said Naveed Shah of Common Defense. According to him, there is also violence against civilians and interventions against immigrant communities in the US.

Planned gatherings

Organizers said more than 3,000 rallies are planned for Saturday in cities, suburbs and rural areas. An important center of protests is the state of Minnesota, which has been the focus of public and media attention in recent months due to the government’s harsh approach against migrants.

At the event in the city of St. Rock musician Bruce Springsteen, who is a big critic of Trump, is also scheduled to perform at Paul’s. Springsteen is expected to sing a protest song dedicated to the victims of brutal crackdowns by federal immigration officials.

According to organizers, two-thirds of the participants in the protests do not live in major cities, indicating that the movement of Trump opponents is expanding beyond the traditional centers of opposition, the AP reported.
