London unites against the far right: tens of thousands of protesters walk the streets in a massive protest against the far right

London is a contra la . Tens of thousands of people demonstrated this Saturday in central London to show their rejection of the extreme right. Attendance varies according to sources: the Police estimate around 50,000 people, while the organizers raise the figure to half a million.

The protest was called by the Alianza Juntos organization, whose spokesperson, Kevin Courtney, highlighted the high participation during the final event in Whitehall. According to the organizers, it would be one of the largest mobilizations of this type.

The march passed through several streets in the city center and coincided with another demonstration in support of Palestine. Both mobilizations ended up uniting in Hyde Park, where the participants gathered.

During the protest, slogans were heard in favor of the rights of migrants and against racism. Attendees carried banners with messages defending coexistence and rejecting discrimination.

Participants included well-known figures such as former Labor leader Jeremy Corbyn, as well as artists such as UB40, Lenny Henry, Paloma Faith, Billy Bragg and Leigh-Anne Pinnock. The city’s mayor, Sadiq Khan, and Green Party leader Zack Polanski also showed their support.

On the other hand, a small group of people gathered in the area with flags opposing the protest. Even so, the day passed without any notable incidents.
