The plant was being built next to the Neves-Corvo mine, in Alentejo, and was expected to produce energy for the mining’s own consumption, reducing costs and emissions. But the works are at a standstill after the Public Prosecutor’s Office went to court, alleging non-compliance with environmental rules and the Municipal Master Plan.
