Did you buy a new garden, or did you just make a radical cut on the existing one and now you are looking sadly at the empty beds? It takes the patience of a saint to wait years for seedlings to grow into mature plants that give you shade or privacy.

- Privacy: A hedge or a screen will grow before the neighbor has time to see what you are new to.
- Weed Suppression: They quickly cover the ground and don’t give weeds a chance.
- But it also has its advantages “but”. Fast growing usually requires more work with the shears. If you don’t tame them, they can creep up on you even where you don’t want them, and the fastest species tend to have a slightly shorter lifespan than their slower relatives.

Miscanthus sinensis (Miscanthus sinensis)
