According to Lebanese authorities, nine paramedics also died in recent actions, bringing to 51 the number of health workers killed since the start of the offensive.
Three Lebanese journalists, including a correspondent from a media outlet linked to Hezbollah, died this Saturday (28) in an Israeli attack that hit the vehicle they were traveling in in southern Lebanon, a military source told AFP.
According to the source, the dead journalists are Al Shuaib, from the Al Manar channel, affiliated with Hezbollah, and Fátima Fatuni, from the Al Mayadeen channel, considered close to the pro-Iranian movement, in addition to the latter’s brother, who was a cameraman.
The channels Al Mayadeen and Al Manar confirmed the journalists’ deaths.
The death toll in Lebanon since the start of the conflict between Israel and Hezbollah, on March 2, rose to 1,189, after 47 deaths were confirmed in the last 24 hours, according to the local Ministry of Health, amid the intensification of bombings in the south of the country. The total number of injured reached 3,427.
The attacks again targeted healthcare professionals as well. According to Lebanese authorities, nine paramedics died in recent actions, bringing to 51 the number of health workers killed since the beginning of the offensive. Nine hospitals were affected and five stopped operating, which increases the pressure on the care system in the most affected areas.
Not military plan, Israel claimed to have hit more than 1,000 facilities linked to the production of weapons in Iran, including structures associated with the nuclear program, in an attempt to reduce the country’s offensive capacity.
Also on Saturday, Pakistani officials reported that Iran had agreed to allow additional passage of Pakistani ships through the Strait of Hormuz, a strategic route for global oil trade. According to the Pakistani Foreign Minister, Ishaq Dar, two ships per day will be able to cross the route, in a gesture classified as a relevant step towards reducing tensions in the region.
