The Municipal Audit Court (TCM) pointed out irregularities in the Municipal Public Servant hospital and instructed the mayor’s management () to take action, especially given the lack of professionals in certain clinical specialties and infrastructure.
The decision is due in November 2025 and, on the 11th, the councilors rejected the appeal filed by the city hall. The complaint was made to the body by councilor Celso Giannazi (PSOL).
According to TCM inspection, there were ward beds, operating rooms and cardiology office closed due to lack of repairs.
The Nunes management says that, since 2021, it has spent R$50 million on adjustments to the hospital in response to the notes made by TCM.
Of this amount, R$32.5 million was used to purchase equipment and furniture. And another R$20 million was directed to renovations and expansion of emergency rooms.
According to the city hall, the court’s supervision was at the hospital in 2018. “It is important to highlight that all the points raised by the court were resolved”, says the municipal administration.
The city hall also states that it hired professionals for specialties such as internal medicine, pediatrics, intensive care, nursing, anesthesiology, geriatrics and oncology. And there are processes underway to hire employees in the areas of biology and accounting technicians.
The hospital carries out 35,500 outpatient visits and 8,900 emergency room visits per month, in addition to carrying out 650 hospitalizations and 560 surgeries.
