Two families and a student shared their weekly shopping with us at the request of STANDARD – and told us what is important to them when shopping and to what extent inflation is already affecting them. We then calculated what halving the VAT on selected staple foods means for the respective weekly shopping. How much would the Hauer family from Vorarlberg, the Löschenbrand-Bläuel family from Lower Austria and student Johanna from Vienna actually save from July?
