President Luiz Inácio da Silva and the president of BNDES (National Bank for Economic and Social Development), are expected to participate on April 16th and 17th in the inaugural event of the Global Progressive Mobilization, in Barcelona, Spain.
The meeting is organized by. Lula and Mercadante will form the board of the new entity, which emerged in October last year and is dedicated to formulating initiatives to contain the advance of the extreme right in the world and strengthen multilateralism, peace and the promotion of social rights.
The presence of the presidents of South Africa, Cyril Ramaphosa, of Uruguay, Yamandú Orsi, as well as economist Mariana Mazzucato and the executive vice-president of the European Commission for Clean Transition, Teresa Ribera, are also expected.
The Progressive Alliance and other international organizations also participate.
