The former president’s defense met this Tuesday (30) with the minister of the (Supreme Federal Court) and made a new appeal for the extension of the period of house arrest.
Lawyer Paulo Cunha Bueno stated on social media that Moraes listened “very urbanely” to the arguments about the former president’s health and explanations regarding Bolsonaro’s gun, seized from one of his security guards during a raid on June 15.
“I believe that the arguments brought forward, on both topics to be assessed, are relevant and provide sufficient grounds for maintaining the home regime”, wrote the lawyer.

On the other hand, those who were with Bolsonaro over the 90 days say that his health has improved, with less frequent bouts of hiccups, but emphasizes that his condition is still fragile and could not support a new arrest. The former president was sentenced by the First Panel of the STF to 27 years and three months in prison, for leading an attempted coup d’état in the country. He has been serving his sentence at home since March 27, when he was released from a period of hospitalization to treat bronchopneumonia.
