The Municipal Health Department (SMS) of the city of São Paulo released a report on the Flu vaccination D-daywhich took place on Saturday (28). were applied 124,190 doses of cowsof these 107,015 against the flu.
“D-Day is another opportunity, mainly, for postpartum women, elderly people over 60 years of age and people with comorbidities to receive the dose of protection”, declared the Municipal Secretary of Health, Luiz Carlos Zamarco, during a visit to the actions of UBS Jardim Vera Cruz, in Pompéia, located in the West Zone of the capital.
“It was very important for them to be present at the Basic Health Units (UBSs) to receive the 2026 vaccine, avoiding developing the vaccine. The mobilization anticipates the period of greatest circulation of the virus”, he concluded.
According to the Municipal Immunization Program (PMI), of the Health Surveillance Coordination (Covisa), vaccination was significant in the five regions of the country, with the south zone applying 27,187 doses; in the southeast (26,739); north (22,829); east (21,863) and west (8,397).
The elderly population had a large representation; 73,084 doses were applied against influenza, and 16,280 children received the vaccine. In addition to 1,420 doses applied to pregnant women and 16,231 to other groups.
The movement at UBS Jardim Vera Cruz caught the attention of Laila Hermoali Sharafidin, 36, to take her 8-month-old son to receive the Influenza dose. He was recently vaccinated against Covid-19. She found the initiative important and soon joined the action.
The graphic designer, Vanderlei Aparecido Marques, who was also at the same unit, highlighted that it is necessary to be aware of the importance of vaccination to avoid the manifestation of the disease and its possible consequences. “It is important that everyone receives the vaccine”, he praised.
Advance Health – Women
The 9th edition of Avança Saúde – Mulher served a total of 33,437 people, 27,472 of whom were women in the capital’s units. Services were available from 8am to 5pm.
The activities were organized at service stations to facilitate the dynamics of the day: Reception and updating registration and vaccination records, rapid tests, nursing care, medical consultation, pharmaceutical guidance, oral health and well-being, health care for the elderly, in addition to Modera SP and smoking.
During the action, 26,775 registration updates were carried out, 9,939 Pap smears, 5,021 requests for mammograms, 33,849 rapid tests, 13,171 oral health screenings, 7,970 medical consultations, 14,486 nursing consultations, 1,301 assessments within Modera SP (e-saúdeSP functionality aimed at assessing the risk of consuming alcoholic beverages), 542 guidelines on smoking and 5,608 Multidimensional Assessments of the Elderly (Ampi).
There were 4,662 implants placed in women in the service effort, in addition to 382 other highly effective long-acting contraceptive methods (LARC) for family planning and gynecological health.
Sandra Sabino, Executive Secretariat for Primary Care, Specialties and Health Surveillance (Seabvs), highlighted that Avança Saúde – Mulher is always held in March, commemorating International Women’s Day, on the 8th.
“The fact that it is held on a Saturday allows women to carry out annual preventive exams as, during the week, they are busy with other tasks. We are in the 9th edition, offering this comprehensive health care. Avança Saúde – Mulher is held in conjunction with D-Day of
Vaccination against Influenza to provide this additional possibility of care”, highlighted the manager.
Held since 2022, Avança Saúde – Mulher aims to encourage self-care, strengthen health education and expand access to prevention and health promotion services for women using the Unified Health System (SUS), including cisgender women, transvestites and transsexuals.
In 2025, more than 18 thousand people were served in March and 33 thousand in October. In addition to the joint effort on March 28th, the UBSs carry out actions aimed at women’s health throughout the month. Residents can find the unit closest to their home through the Busca Saúde platform.
