14 years later, FPF and former referee Bruno Paixão reach an agreement

The case had been dragging on in the courts since 2012, after Bruno Paixão was left out of the list of internationals submitted by the FPF to FIFA. It was then that he decided to “file a lawsuit demanding compensation for the damage allegedly caused”. A dispute that has now come to an end.

A , this Monday, reached an agreement with Bruno Paixão. But to understand what happened it is necessary to go back 14 years, to 2012, when the former referee “saw his name excluded from the list of internationals submitted by the FPF to FIFA, following which he filed a lawsuit demanding compensation for the losses allegedly caused by that decision”.

After years in court, FPF and Bruno Paixão agreed to “definitely close a long process, avoiding the continuation of litigation with a detrimental impact on both parties”.

The details of this agreement are not revealed in the statement, but Bruno Paixão thanks the FPF Management “for its availability to definitively resolve the process that had been going on in court since 2012, with undeniable personal impacts, namely financial and reputational”.

“The agreement now reached finally puts an end to a dispute that could and should have been closed a long time ago, so I cannot fail to emphasize and reinforce the commitment of the current FPF Management to find, together, an outcome that defends the interests of both parties”, said Bruno Paixão.
