Someone spilled the beans. Last week, conservative German Economics Minister Katherine Reiche told oil executives in Texas that there could be a physical shortage of fuel in Germany from the end of April if the Iran war continues unabated. Reiche’s statement caused such waves that her own ministry had to backtrack on the same day: the minister had only described a worst-case scenario, it was said.
