Spring resists: strong wind and rough seas in six communities despite the rise in temperatures | The weather today in Spain and in the world

The arrival of spring is not yet fully felt in Spain. This Monday, six autonomous communities are under warning due to maritime storms and strong gusts of wind. Even with the instability in the storm, the day will be marked by the fact that it will increase during the next few days throughout the peninsula, according to the prediction of the State Meteorological Agency ().

The orange alert for winds and rough seas is activated in Aragon, the Balearic Islands and Catalonia. In places like Huesca and Tarragona, gusts can reach 100 kilometers per hour. In many other provinces, such as Madrid, Zaragoza, Teruel or Castellón, and on several islands in the Canary and Balearic Islands, the warning is yellow for wind.

Mallorca, Menorca and areas of the Catalan coast are on orange alert due to strong waves, while in other parts of the Mediterranean and the Canary Islands the risk is lower, although there are also warnings. In the Canary Islands, in addition, some islands such as La Palma, Fuerteventura or Lanzarote are under warning due to haze, that is, dust in the air.

In the north of the peninsula, overcast skies with weak and continuous rains are expected, especially in the Cantabrian Sea and the Pyrenees. In the south and the Balearic Islands, on the other hand, clearer skies dominate, although some instability is not ruled out. Snow will fall in mountain areas, but at increasingly higher levels, between 1,300 and 1,500 meters high. There is also fog in the morning in northern areas.

Temperatures will rise during the day in most of the country, although they will drop in the south at night. The wind will blow strongly in several areas, especially in the Ebro valley, the Pyrenees, the Balearic Islands and the Canary Islands.

Holy Week will be marked by , according to Aemet spokesperson, Rubén del Campo. The strong gusts of wind and bad seas will continue during the first days of the week, in addition to light and isolated rains expected in areas such as the Pyrenees and the Cantabrian Sea. The rise in temperature will be felt more strongly for the weekend, when some parts of the peninsula reach 28 degrees.
