SIC Explica-me, a SIC Notícias project, celebrates its one year anniversary this Tuesday. The initiative aims to help young people understand current affairs, encourage critical thinking and distinguish reliable information in a context increasingly marked by misinformation.
O such as videos, texts and interactive quizzes, organized around the questions “How?”, “Why?”, “What is it?”, “Who is it?” and “Did you know?” The themes cover different current areasin an accessible way and adapted to a younger audience.
The content is divided into three age groups, from 6 to 10 years old, from 10 to 13 and from 13 to 15 years old, allowing you to adjust the language and level of complexity.
On the day the project celebrates one year, the President of the Republic, António José Seguro, sent SIC Explica-me a message addressed to the youngest, in which he emphasized the importance of being informed and warned of the dangers of misinformation.
According to the head of state, “Just as important as looking for information is finding out which means of communication we can trust.”
Antonio José Seguro also highlighted the role of information in civic participationstating that “Being informed is essential for us to make decisions and actively participate in the future of our land, our country, the world. But being informed is also knowing how to distinguish between what is spread just to confuse and confuse us and the real facts.”
O The President also warned of the risks of disinformationremembering that “misinformation exists everywhere and you need to know where it is so you don’t let yourself be fooled.”
Letters published in SIC Explica-me reached the President of the Republic
So did several students from the Ribeiro Sanches de Penamacor school group, explaining which problems worried them most.
The letters were from SIC Explica-me and ended up arriving at the Palácio de Belém.
Born in Penamacor, on the day he took office, António José Seguro met with a group of students from the school in his homeland and received the letters personally.
