The former president of the Chamber and now pre-candidate for , (PP-AL), wants the mayor of Maceió, JHC, on his ticket in . The mayor, however, led Lira to give him an ultimatum to take a stand.
The dispute takes place because, according to Lira’s allies, there was an agreement for JHC to run for government of Alagoas and for his wife to replace Lira in the Senate.
In recent days, however, the mayor decided that he wants to launch the woman as senator. So much so that he left the PL and joined the PL to guarantee space.
The hammer has not yet been dropped and that is why Lira is already working with a plan B: to launch the senator and former CPMI rapporteur, Alfredo Gaspar (PL), into the state government.
Lira already has the support of the PL leadership and is working with other alliances to close the ticket, if JHC maintains a separate candidacy.
