This Tuesday (31) had an awkward moment, marked by the exchange of barbs between the ministers (Casa Civil) and (Secom).
In his presentation, Rui Costa repeated that government deliveries were not reaching the population. When listing achievements, the head of the Civil House cast doubts on communication, addressing the chief minister of Secom, Sidônio Palmeira. The gesture was interpreted as a public demand.
“My question is whether the people know this, Sidônio. I think we have to focus on comparing and showing. The people have the right to know these numbers and this data, because there has been a change from water to wine, from a desert of projects, works and governance, to a government that has a leader who has assembled a team willing to work and produce these results”, he declared.
About to leave the government to run for the Senate in Bahia, Rui took stock of the PT administration’s actions, shortly after the president’s opening speech this Tuesday.
Even before Rui Costa finished his presentation, Sidônio intervened, asking if his colleague was blaming him. In a joking tone, the secretary general of the Presidency, Gulherme Boulos commented that, as Bahians, they would understand each other.
Minutes later, in his own presentation, Sidônio attributed the difficulties to the fact that the government had not explained, from the beginning, the state in which it inherited Bolsonaro’s administration.
Sidônio only took over communication in January 2025, replacing Paulo Pimenta. Still in his speech, he countered Rui, stating that it is necessary to summarize the information when communicating deliveries.
